I am an Associate Professor of Literature at the University of Southern Denmark and a Fellow at the Danish Institute for Advanced Study

I am interested in the various ways literature mobilizes us to action, both in historical cases and in the present day. These interests have led me to write about vagrancy, genre theory, memes, and climate fiction.

My book, The American Vagrant in Literature: Race, Work and Welfare was published by Edinburgh University Press in April 2023.

My current project concerns the use of fiction-writing workshops to address problems of "eco-anxiety" in young people. This research is supported by the Independent Research Fund Denmark.

I am the co-PI of the SDU Climate Elite Center, Mobilizing Post-Anthropocentric Climate Action (PACA). Our objective is to map post-anthropocentric social theories and narratives in order to promote a new 'root narrative' for imagining hospitable climate futures.
